MAGICAL MEMORIES / TRAVEL JOURNAL
Choosing a Marriott Stay for Your Travel Style
Compare individual Marriott properties and rate conditions using your location, room, transportation and flexibility needs.
01 / TRAVEL JOURNAL
Choose the property, not only the name
A familiar hotel name can be reassuring, but the individual property still needs to fit your trip. Start with the purpose of the stay: a beach break, city visit, family gathering or convenient overnight stop. Give Sue your preferred area, dates and budget. Compare the actual property setting and facilities rather than assuming that every Marriott-associated hotel provides the same experience, room style or included services.
02 / TRAVEL JOURNAL
Make location a practical decision
Identify the places you expect to visit and how you will travel between them. A hotel described as near an airport or attraction may still require a transfer that affects both timing and cost. Review parking, walkability and available transport using current property information. If the trip includes an early flight or evening event, consider that journey specifically. The right location can make a short stay feel considerably more relaxed.
03 / TRAVEL JOURNAL
Confirm the accommodation details
Look at the exact room category, bed setup and occupancy. Ask about any feature your group depends on, including accessibility requirements or separate sleeping areas. Photographs are useful inspiration but should not replace category descriptions and confirmations. Compare breakfast, parking and other amenities against the offered rate. A suite label or brand expectation alone does not establish the layout, equipment or services that will be available during your stay.
04 / TRAVEL JOURNAL
Understand rates and loyalty questions
Review payment timing, cancellation conditions and the full cost before deciding. If Marriott Bonvoy points, status benefits or promotional eligibility matter to you, ask how the specific booking arrangement affects them and verify current program terms. Do not assume every channel or rate qualifies in the same way. Compare flexibility as well as price. The best option depends partly on how certain your plans are and what benefits you actually value.
05 / TRAVEL JOURNAL
Give Sue the information that matters
Send your dates, traveler count, bed preferences and the main purpose of the stay. Add the places you need to reach, whether you will have a car and any arrival or departure constraints. Mark requirements separately from preferences: accessible features may be essential, while a particular view may not be. Ask for a small comparison explaining why each property fits. That produces a more useful recommendation than a long list organized only by nightly price.
